I’m still figuring out my new relationship with social media. I must admit that vlogging is enjoyable but incredibly time-consuming. So if you do get something out of watching, please let me know! It’ll give me a sense of whether I should continue making it a priority in 2024.
IN THE VIDEO:
PLACES:
My hair colorist in Los Angeles: Midhaven Salon, which I wrote about more in this post
Baker’s Bench (Abe’s favorite vegan pastries) in Downtown LA, Chinatown
Tailwaggers (Miles’ favorite pet store!)
PRODUCTS:
If you watch any of my skincare videos, you’re familiar with the pink bow headband I’m always wearing (which Abe calls my “Birdo” look). I decided to get a new holiday themed one for myself.
Balsam Hill Artificial Christmas Tree — Abe always comments on how pretty it is, and I agree. If you’re in the market for one next year, they are constantly having sales off season.
Real Techniques Brushes — Very impressed with the quality of these but honestly I still prefer using my fingers.
Yensa Silk Cream Blush — I like to put this on my cheeks but also often on my eyes too.
Cover Girl Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Balm - Cover Girl LipSlicks was one of my first makeup products ever (Hint of Coral was my choice because the model
wore it in this ad.)Rosy Lips Vaseline — Cute and tiny (and effective) but as I say in the video, the cap is so cheap and flimsy. Honestly, I cannot tell the difference between this and regular Vaseline.
Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick — On par with my other favorite shadow sticks, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick and the much cheaper dupe by Elf.
Maya Chia Highlight of the Day (gifted) — I hate to say this because I actually love the product (and the company) but the bottle is always clogging, which gets so messy.
Youthforia Blush — Surprised how much I consistently find myself grabbing for this.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner — This actually smudged a lot later in the day… so much for 24/7?!
Haus Labs Crayon — I love this thick lip pencil. It glides on really well.
Haus Labs Lip Oil — I really love this lip gloss/oil. I wear it by itself constantly.
NERRA The Body Exfoliation and Cleansing Ritual (gifted) - I had a chance to try it out once after unboxing for this video so I can give an update that it’s unscented! The ritual set is a lovely way to upgrade bath time and would make a really nice gift, but it isn’t cheap (the whole set is $175). The one product from the whole set that I feel is worth the cost on its own is the body oil spray ($85) which feels pretty special and luxurious.
Last but not least, I mention in the video that I talked about Gen X stuff with NPR!
