I’ve been working all week on editing this interview with my dad for Father’s Day. You can watch it here.

Below are some old photos of my parents. They came to the United States in 1968 and got married in 1970, after my mother graduated from Manhattan School of Music (she was an opera singer). Then, they moved to Wesleyan University, where my father got his PhD in Ethnomusicology.

This is the same school Abe and I met at (and revisited recently). The same hill where we shared our first kiss!

Pretty much everyone’s outfit is an A+

I have my Dad’s watch (I actually used it in I WILL MAKE YOU MINE. I wonder if that’s the same bling from this photo?!?)

I want all of these clothes, but especially my Dad’s Wesleyan ringer tee.

Even Baby Morgan's outfit rocks!

Layering done right. Look at this pose. The crossed legs. Casually leaning on a KEEP OFF sign. Who is this man?!?

This is some indie rock band album cover, or a scene from a Wes Anderson film, right? No, just my mom and dad.

The sunglasses! The scarf in mom’s hair! The matching shorts/vest set!!!!

Even though I’m Gen X, this is truly the fashion I feel most aligned with.
