Beauty and fashion are super personal, and of course I realize not everyone shares the same taste as me (or has similar hair/body/skin types). That’s why every now and then, I’ll feature someone else’s favorites and recommendations.

I’m pleased to highlight Helenna Santos, fellow actress/filmmaker and Substack writer. She’s also a talented photographer.

Read on to hear about her experiences finding the perfect little bag for only $20.

Name: Helenna Santos (she/her)

Generation: Xennial

Sleepover Essentials: YM and Seventeen magazines, New Kids On The Block board game, and VHS tapes of Reality Bites and Poison Ivy 2.

I recently came across numerous articles talking about the Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag that went viral with GenZ after a video was posted on tiktok by @caitlinphillimore.

I’m not on tiktok for numerous reasons, but I did hop on the app to watch her video and yup, I was definitely “influenced”.

I love bags and I am always searching for the perfect bag for every occasion. This particular bag caught my attention because so many people were calling it the best travel bag for day trips and an all ‘round perfect casual day bag.

I do my best not to buy fast fashion, but when I do, I go for things like this bag that can get a lot of wear out of the purchase. For $25 Canadian (where I currently live, $20 in the United States) this bag seemed like it could live up to the hype.

And GenX (or Xennials like me), is it the Mary Poppins day bag of our dreams?

Yes, yes it is.

Why?
