🌈 I have worn many of Rachel Antonoff’s colorful pieces (like this puffer, via Rent the Runway — I was a longtime member pre-pandemic). They’re having a digital warehouse sale through the end of today! Bonus - Rachel is from the same area of NJ as me (and yes her brother is Jack Antonoff).
✂️ I’ve mentioned my friend Phoebe Lapine’s new gluten-free cookbook Carbivore already, but recently got a chance to attend her LA book signing party at the lovely Block Shop Textiles in Atwater Village founded by Lily and Hopie Stockman . I’d never been to the shop before and was blown away by all the beautiful rugs, pillows, and wallpaper — here’s more about them.
🍞 Also at Phoebe’s party — I got to meet the team (Lizzy Boelter and Hae Yong Min) behind my favorite gluten-free bread, Super Bloom Bakery (use code LYNN for 15% off). I have converted so many GF skeptics to them and their bread makes such a great gift (I shipped some to Phoebe after her daughter was born)!
🎶 Speaking of Phoebes that I love, there’s currently an amazing auction to benefit Independent Shakespeare Co. and Phoebe Bridgers will handwrite the lyrics to any of her (or boygenius’) songs! You may remember we saw her band play at The Hollywood Bowl for Halloween and it was such a special evening. The auction is full of cool things and ends on April 23rd.
👱♀️ There’s been a lot of talk about covering greys on Substack recently and I just wanted to say (for anyone on the fence about balayage) that getting bleached highlights in 2020 was one of the best decisions I’ve made in the journey of my aging hair. It just blends it all in! But for those of you who don’t want to sit in a chair for 2-3 hours every 4-6 months, I highly recommend the following that I used to do for myself: temporary root spray (I’ve tried a bunch and was just as happy with the cheaper, drugstore brands than the higher-end ones) and also I often used the at-home e-salon which customizes color much better than a box-dye option. (P.S. if there’s anyone who has successfully embraced going grey and wants to do a guest post, let me know!)
