I have been a big fan of nipple covers since I first discovered them on set years ago while having to film sex scenes for Yes We’re Open (2012). They’ve come a long way since the sticky, ultra-padded, and somewhat painful to remove versions I remember from years ago (that also needed to be thrown out after just a few uses).
Post pandemic, I grew very accustomed to going bra-less and for the most part, my boobs are small enough that I don’t need to wear anything — or I just put on the seamless Neiwai bras I am always going on and on about.1
But lately I’ve been rocking thin-strapped dresses/tops and the Nippies I’ve been wearing for the last year finally lost its adhesion and were sliding off whenever I sweat. I was going to just buy another pair, but was kinda unhappy with how you could still see my nipples under very sheer/white tops. And I didn’t want to keep throwing out these covers every year.
I had read this Wirecutter review of non-adhesive-keep-forever Cakes and actually ordered a pair to try when Nood asked to send me three of their products — one of which was also a non-adhesive-keep-forever version.
So… I canceled the Cakes order and gratefully accepted Nood’s offer, which also included an extra-lift adhesive version and some regular adhesive ones (very similiar to the Nippies). The good news is that not only does the shade I got (“Soft Tan”) do the job even under very light-colored tops, but the non-adhesive ones actually adhere to my skin, even under non-tight tops.
All you do when you’re done is wash them with soap/water and air dry — then put them back on the plastic domes they come with. FYI I am definitely reaching for the non-adhesive ones a lot more than the adhesive versions, but I do wonder if they won’t stick as well over time, or when my body doesn’t run as warm during the summer.
As you can see from this video below, it was not love at first try; I did have some slight issues with the way they looked but then I got used to it very quickly. Now I think they’re great!
But, seriously, though…

I finally located the Yummie bras I wore faithfully years ago — they provide a tiny bit more structure/are not seamless but are still very comfy… not “you can’t feel a thing” status but still pretty great.
